Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio, she quit high school and moved into Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. Even though she had financial difficulties in 2001, her debut came acting as Rachel's Room's primary character. In 2002, she was nominated for an Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress on Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace decided to leave the show in order to focus on her professional film work. She had appeared alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) Replays of these characters. Grace played Shannon's part on Lost for two additional episodes, including the finale of the series. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season, which aired between 2013 and 2014. She plays Faith as an admirer and muse to the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is part of Gyllenhaal's family, and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in films of her father in his adolescent years. With her brother, she was also in Donnie Darko (2000). In 2002, she was featured as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also, she appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics in both of her roles as the lead actress in Secretary (2002), the erotic drama about romance and Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). For her performance as the single mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. After that, she went on to play in comedies along with dramas, such as Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011), and Will Not Back Down (12). Other roles she has played include an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in the film Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal's first film as a director and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama in which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also won the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
